FAQ

Is a boating license required to rent a boat?

It depends on the type of boat. We offer both license-free dinghies (within legal engine limits), which you can drive even without prior experience, and more powerful boats that do require a nautical license. In any case, when booking, we’ll advise you on the most suitable option for your experience level. Your safety and peace of mind come first.

For rentals without a skipper, fuel is not included and will be calculated based on actual usage. You’ll be able to refuel upon return at our fuel dock in Rapallo with the support of our staff. That way, you only pay for what you’ve actually used. For fixed-price services (such as Taxi Boat or Sunset Aperitif), fuel is usually included in the price.

Safety always comes first. If weather and sea conditions make it unsafe to go out, we’ll work with you to reschedule for another available date, or refund your deposit according to our cancellation policy. We monitor forecasts in the days leading up to your booking and will notify you in advance if necessary.

Yes, you can cancel or modify your reservation according to our policy. Usually, we require a minimum notice period (e.g., 48 hours) for a cancellation without penalty. If you wish to change the date, contact us as soon as possible — we’ll do our best to accommodate you based on availability.

All our boats are equipped with legally required safety gear: life jackets for adults and children, fire extinguisher, emergency flares, first-aid kit, anchor, oars, and boat hook. Before departure, our staff will give you a safety briefing and explain how everything works on board. Boats are also tracked, and we’re always reachable by phone for any emergency or need during your outing.

Can I bring young children or pets on board?

Absolutely! Children are very welcome on board. We provide small-size life jackets and always recommend they be worn by minors while sailing. Pets are also allowed, provided they’re small to medium size and used to being around water. Let us know in advance so we can suggest the best boat and have a mat or spot ready for them.

Yes, for rentals where you are the skipper, we ask for a security deposit to cover any potential damages. The amount depends on the boat type and can be held on a credit card or paid in cash before departure. After verifying the boat’s condition upon return, the full deposit is refunded if there’s no damage.

Absolutely. If you prefer to relax and let someone else take the helm, one of our professional skippers can take care of the navigation for you. This is ideal if you don’t have a license but want to rent a larger boat — or if you just want a stress-free experience. Our skippers know the area well and will even share local stories and hidden gems along the way.

You can book by phone, email, or through our website where online booking is available. Once we confirm availability, we’ll ask for a deposit to secure your date. Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card, or digital options. We accept major cards and platforms like Apple Pay and Google Pay. The balance can be settled before boarding or at the time of service. All online transactions are protected by SSL encryption for maximum security.

Just a few essentials will help you make the most of your day: sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, swimsuit, and a beach towel if you plan to swim. A light jacket or sweatshirt can be useful if there’s a breeze. Bring a reusable water bottle — on some boats we offer complimentary fresh water. If you plan to snorkel, bring your gear or let us know: we can provide masks and fins on request. You just focus on relaxing and having fun. We’ll take care of safety and all the technical details.
